The 5-lobe star knob,
done properly.
The standard clamping knob is a 38 mm flat-top with plastic threads. Ours is a 48 mm five-lobe star with a domed crown, a steel load path, and one lobe 3 mm longer than the rest — marked in red, so you can read your setup at a glance. One family, six variants: M6 and M8, female through-hole or included stud.
Male · M6 & M8 · 25 / 40 mm stud
Same body, grade 8.8 zinc-plated steel stud. The hex head seats in the moulded pocket, so it can never spin under load.
